Aside
from considering "Hamlet" one of my ultimate favorite, it can be
analyze as a very complex work of literature. Many readers can argue that is a
very challenging play to read. Without a doubt the text requires the reader to
spend more time exploring the context and analyzing beyond the obvious. Once
you spend sufficient time studying the play, many questions will arise within
the reading. Hamlet does not just centralize on vengeance as the main topic, we
also find grieve, melancholy among other themes. One of the most important
subjects was the struggle Hamlet faces when questioning whether it is worth
existing or not.
"To be or not to
be" is one of the most famous and known lines of "Hamlet". This
really emphasizes on the battle Hamlet faces with all his problems. I find
"Hamlet" to be an extraordinary piece of literature but it also
demands an intensive effort and attention to fully understand. Watching the
movie was really helpful in better understanding the play.
For anyone who has
never read "Hamlet". I highly recommend it. If complex and
entertaining literature is what you like. You won't regret reading “Hamlet”!

While reading Hamlet, you really do have to look far beyond the obvious. The characters do not come out and say what they are really feeling in this play. One has to analyze the character traits and base their perception of the characters off of that.
ReplyDeleteIt is a very challenging piece of literature to read. I think it also requires a more analyzing to better understand and interpret this work. The film was very very helpful in helping have a better understanding of this wonderful work by Shakespeare.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree Elsa, i LOVE Hamlet. It does require alot of analyzing and really digging deep into the play to fully appreciate it but i think thats what it takes to appreciate most any play or book for that matter. I usually always like the book more than the movie in most cases and this was no exception. I did like the movie but the play paints a different story into my head. I love your blog as well =)

ReplyDeleteEven though i'm not a big drama fan I loved Hamlet as well. It's an excellent point to note one of the most popular quotes still to this day "To be or not to be" and to show the internal conflict that Hamlet had. It is a more difficult piece to fully comprehend but watching the film really helps put things in perspective.
ReplyDeleteI was not a Hamlet fan but it did become intriguing with what he was going to do in the end and if he truly became crazy. Yes, definitely agree watching it as well give an emphasis of what happened overall.
